Final Holiday Image

Here is my final holiday image. it didnt turn out quite like i had hoped because i ran out of time! i tried my best to create the best image i could and made Christmas trees for added effect. the wreath turned out well though. i could have done much better with more time but i am happy with what i got done.

Pattern for Holiday Image

Above is a piece of the pattern that i made for my holiday image. I used various sizes of circles and stacked them in lines but not in perfect order or pattern. I made them all white and some only had outlines and no fill. I then put this pattern on top of a rectangle that had red in it. I used the gradient tool to add gradient to this red rectangle and this was the final product for my background on my holiday image. i felt that it was bubbly and fun and overall turned out okay.

Here is the final background for my image

Pattern for Makeup Company

Here are my patterns for my company which is called Aphrodite. Aphrodite is a make up company and i made these two patterns for this company using its main colors which are red, black and white with a little bit of creme mixed in. I made simple stripes which are on bottom and a simple pattern using hearts on top, this pattern uses the hearts from the company logo. overall they were easy to make and turned out okay.

Pattern Creation

Here is my pattern Creation. I think i did this right but I'm not positive so if its wrong please tell me! i chose black and white because they were simple and the pattern was fairly busy. I rotated the pattern 45 degrees, and i made it smaller than it was to start out with so you could see it better. I think it turned out okay but if there is anything i did wrong please tell me!!! :) thank youuu!

Business Card

Here is my Business card for S'il Vous Plais Graphic Design. I wanted my business card to be fairly simple overall so i stuck with the same font all over, except for the logo, and stuck with white for my font color and gray as the background. I chose white for my font color because first of all it looked better against the gray i had chosen for my background, and second of all i feel like white is fresh, new and classic. I created a simple design for the sides and i know it isn't perfect but i didn't want it to be perfect. Since everything else on my business card was going to be clean and neat i felt that having this trim on the sides that isn't perfect would balance it all out and it would make the business card a little less harsh overall. I added some gradient with the mesh tool to create some different tints of the gray background. The back of the business card simply has the logo and the name of my business and the front has the logo and the required information such as name and address. For this information i didn't like the way it looked when i just simply typed it all out because it didn't have the look i wanted it to have. so i changed the tracking of each line of information and changed the size of my name so that my name would be larger and more the focal point of the information and changing the tracking made all the lines the same length so it created a box of information and i like the cleanliness of the way it looks. overall i thought it was pretty hard but turned out okay.

CATE Logo

Here are four different CATE logos that i made. I didn't really know which one to post because I don't really like them very much. So i posted them all and I was wondering if you could comment and tell me which one you like best, i already have my favorites but i want to see what y'all think :) So i stuck with black and white and added maroon to some of them and i chose these colors because they are the districts colors. Um i tried to keep them somewhat simple but i'm not very good at this...so yeah just tell me what you think :)

Logo Design

Here is my logo design for my company which is called S'il Vous Plais which is french for "please", "to Please" or "Pleasing". I chose this name for my graphic design company because first of all i really like french. I wish I could speak french because i think its one of the prettiest sounding languages ever. :) so yeah and i also picked this name because i feel like one of the main strengths of my company would be pleasing the customer and making sure they are always happy. I chose to keep my logo simple and all black which makes it easier to print or embroider or put on different items. The font i chose for my letter  "SVP" was called Bickham Script Pro-Regular, and i chose this font because it is a very pretty, clean and classic looking font which was the feel i wanted my business to have overall. I placed a Classic french Fleur De Lis beside the initials for my company just to add a little something to the logo and to help contribute to creating the mood and the feeling i wanted my business to have. Overall i had a really hard time creating this logo. i wish i could have created something a little bit better but with the amount of time i had this was one of the logos i created that i liked best. I thought this was going to be a lot easier than it was. I now appreciate graphic designers a whole lot more than before. they have a hard job. It could have turned out better in my opinion but on the other hand it could have turned out a lot worse too.

Personal Expression :)

This is my personal expressions project :) I chose pink because pink is my favorite color and it gives off a feeling of playfulness and girlyness. I put some dots in the background and made them very light so they do not draw attention away from the text and picture. My picture gave me a couple of problems but i got it done and I think it turned out okay. Pink and Brown is my favorite color combination and that is one of the reasons why I chose for my text to be brown. Another reason i chose brown for the text is because most of the shades and tints in the picture of me are different tones of brown so i wanted the text to tie into the picture. I put the word "skater" in a box because figure skating is a big part of my life and i love it :) The five texts i chose were Trajan Pro, Myriad Pro, Giddyup Std, Mesquite Std Medium, and Rosewood Std. I chose these fonts because they express my personality and are not your average boring texts.

Snowboarder

This is my snowboarder. This tutorial was not the easiest one for me. It took a lot of resizing and changing and a whole lot of time. I had some problems with the pen tool but overall I think it turned out decent in the end. :)

Vase with flower :)

Here is my vase with the flower i made on it :) everything went well except i had a couple problems with the gradient tool and getting the flower on the vase in the right spot. after a little while i finally got it on there :)

Sign/Logo Replica

The Picture on top is the original sign that i was going to re-create. I didn't know what logo or sign to pick and I didn't want to pick something that was common or more likely for other people to pick, and when i found this I liked it because of the colors and feel overall. :)The one on bottom is my replica of this diner sign. I didn't really have any problems re-creating it, the only thing that was kinda hard was finding fonts to match the original ones. If there is anything I could have or should have done differently please comment! :)

Las Vegas Sign

Here is my Las Vegas Sign :) i think it turned out pretty good, there were probably a few things i could have done better, and there are a couple things i could keep practicing but overall i didn't have any major problems

My Revised Quote :)

Here is my Revised Quote :) I change a couple of things. I changed the alignment, colors and font. The quote still has a similar effect as the last one but this time i used dark blue and orange which are complementary colors for the text. The words in orange were the words that were most important to me in this quote. I also changed the font of these words to make them stand out a bit more.

Splat :)

Here is my splat text thing :) I chose to do it with my name instead of the word splat. I chose bright colors that would be easy to read and to distinguish.

Spiral Text-Quote

Here is my spiral text. I made the font decrease in size as you move into the spiral and i also changed the colors of some of the words or key phrases that i thought were important to the quote.

My Glyph Monster :)

This is my glyph monster :) not really a monster haha oh well :) I chose green as the background because it is a turtle outside by a flower, in the sun, and this is all nature.Green is a color that kind of represents nature and the earth. This tint of green is not too dark to it gives a fairly bright feel. I tried to incorporate as many different symbols and things as i could.

My Quote :)

This is one of my favorite quotes because I feel like everything happens for a reason and no matter what the situation is, most likely you learned something or became a better person from that experience. Life goes on and a lot of times this quote is right; good things might end but better things are on their way.  I kept everything different shades and tints of the same color except for where it says "fall apart" and "fall together"  and i made those both tints of green. The green and red-ish color are complimentary colors and when put together like this they both seem brighter. :)

Elements of Design

There are 7 elements of design; line, texture, color, value, shape, direction and size. These design elements can be found in everything around us every single day. Here are some examples of each element.

Line:
This Chanel ad includes all of the elements of design but it includes lots of lines. The surf board is a very strong and stable vertical line and the person behind the surf board and in front of it add some different heights to the ad. The two people carrying the other surf board with bags on it are two vertical lines, a different height of course, that are creating a horizontal line with the surf board and bags. These lines are fairly large and thick and take up most of the available space on this ad. The lines could also be considered implied since they are not lines that are drawn on the ad, they are simply created by using objects and people.

Texture:
This ad has many different visual textures in it. the dress seems smooth and silky which contrasts with the rest of the room which has many different rough, and ornate looking textures. This mix of textures is visually appealing and interesting to the eye.

Color:
This ad includes all the elements of design and specifically lots of color. The color scheme for this ad is an analogous color scheme which gives a bright and cheery effect. Blue, Purple and Red are all next to each other on the color wheel. These colors are all very bright and vivid in the ad above and catch the eye of the reader or consumer. These colors up against the pale skin of the model and the purse she is holding make the colors appear brighter.

Value:
The ad above includes many different values and colors. Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. This ad in particular has many different shades and tints of green. There are greens and blues in this photo that are light and some that are dark and this is the value of the color. Although the picture may have mainly blue and green throughout, the values of the colors are not the same. This color scheme would be monochromatic with an accent of blue.

Shape:
The Picture above contains many different logos of large companies such as Starbucks and Coca-Cola. Each one of these logos is a shape or creates a shape with the text. There are circles such as the ABC and Virgin logos, there are rectangles that are created by the shape of the text such as FedEx and even Coca-Cola. Nike has a simple black check as their logo and this is a shape that is unique to them. Every logo out there is made up of shapes and has an overall shape to it and this can affect what feeling the consumer gets about the company. The rectangular shape of the FedEx and NBA logos give off a feeling of seriousness while the Disney logo is written in a bright color and curvy letters that gives off a fun feeling.

Direction:
The at&t ad has horizontal lines that give off a sense of calmness, tranquility, and stability. These lines pull your eye across the logo and the thickness of the blue line decreases are you move from left to right giving an energetic feeling or the feeling of motion to the logo.

Size:
This ad grabs the attention of the consumer by using a variation in size of the same object. The started out with the smallest item at the top and it gradually became larger as you work your way down the page. This makes the person start at the top and it pulls their eye down to the bottom of the page.

Sara Koseoglu- My Bio

My name is Sara Koseoglu and I am currently a junior at AMCHS. I was born on December 3rd of 1993 in College Station, Texas. I am the second out of four children in my family. My older brother Deren, is now 19 and a sophomore in college at A&M. My younger brother Emil, is an 8th grader at AMCMS, and last but not least, Anna, my younger sister, is 3 years old. I was born here and raised here. My favorite season is summer (yes, even in the extreme Texas heat) because summer to me, means swimming, tanning, shopping, lazy days at home and hanging out with friends. I LOVE shopping. <3 I teach swim lessons for the city of College Station during the summer. And in any free time I have I am either at Arctic wolf, which is the ice skating rink, practicing for the upcoming show, competition or test, or I am hanging out with friends and just enjoying my life. :) I love design. Whether its clothes, shoes or interior design, I love it all. I would love to go to college either at A&M or somewhere in Texas. I am not sure what I want to do, but I have considered anything from a physical therapist, or a lawyer to being an interior design or graphic designer.  I love to travel, see the world and experience new and fun things. Other than that I love to talk and try to stay positive everyday. :) Thats about it, so bye! :)
